CompNeuro for GenAlpha 2026

From Curious Questions
to Real Data.

Introducing the next generation of African neuroscientists. We took computational neuroscience and robotics out of the textbook and placed it directly into the hands of young, brilliant minds.

Our Vision

We believe the next great breakthroughs in neuroscience will come from Africa.

Our Mission

ACNEI exists to dismantle the barriers between African youth and the future of STEM. Through the CompNeuro for GenAlpha program, we bridge the gap between basic education and advanced scientific exploration—cultivating curiosity, building technical confidence, and mapping out real career pathways in science and technology from primary school through university.

The Delivery Model

One mission, two approaches tailored to the environment.

Model A

The Innovation Hub

Ondo State

Learners from four different schools were convened at the Hunnovate Tech Hub. This immersive environment allowed for deep dives into Python, computational neuroscience, and the building of Braitenberg vehicles.

Model B

The School Visit

Port Harcourt, Rivers State

We brought the science to the students. Visiting a state primary school in a low-income community, we adapted our curriculum to introduce neurobiology and STEM career pathways to younger pupils.

The Story of 2026

Igniting the spark in Ondo State.

In Ondo, 20 learners (55% girls) gathered at a local tech hub. They didn't just learn about the brain; they simulated it. They didn't just study code; they built robots. The feedback was extraordinary, with zero ratings falling below "Good."

Learner Ratings (Ondo)

"It was one in a million. I wish to come back anytime I have the chance."

— Learner, Ondo State

What they learned:

56% of learners said the most interesting thing they learned was about the brain. Over 38% asked for more robotics and coding time.

The Story of 2026

Expanding horizons in Port Harcourt.

At State Primary School I, Aluu, we reached 125 pupils (54% boys, 46% girls). We delivered a tailored introduction to neurobiology and career pathways. During our visit, we noticed a critical need: approximately 40% of the learners lacked essential learning supplies.

A Tangible Impact

In response, ACNEI donated notebooks and stationery, ensuring that the excitement of the day was matched by the tools needed for their continued education.

Looking Forward

Our 2027 Priorities.

The program met its core aim: learners enjoyed the training, learned something new, and want to take part again. To strengthen CompNeuro for GenAlpha 2027, we are focusing on:

Be part of their story.

Help us expand this program to more states, more schools, and more brilliant minds.
